Resumen
The sight translation is a basic method used for evaluating the level of foreign languages. Also, the target language quality form a fundamental part of the evaluation of the performance of sight translation. In the EEE8 test (Test for Spanish Majors-level 8), sight translation, as the unique form, is introduced to evaluate the oral capacity and that of interpretation, which also requires a scientific criterion so as to distinguish the performances with different marks. In this article, in the perspective of “deverbalization”, we focus on the samples of sight translation of EEE8 between 2017-2018 through the construction of a corpus. In addition, we investigate the correlations between the level of “deverbalization” and the performances of the students with regard to their target language quality. Hereafter, we analyze the factors that will affect “deverbalization” so that the learners will improve their target language quality of sight translation. In the end, it is our attempt to offer some suggestions for the study and the teaching of sight translation.
