ABSTRACT
This chapter aims to examine China's potential role in Brazil's ecological transition process, identifying three fundamental areas of cooperation: ecological flows and markets, green technologies, and related industrial and environmental policies. By segmenting the ecological transition into these axes, the chapter seeks to understand it as a complex system that evolves over time across multiple dimensions and projects, which gradually adapt and intertwine. The examples mentioned in the work highlight the progress made so far and possible pathways to advance transition policies toward a low-carbon economy. The discussion leads to the hypothesis that Brazil's ecological transition process can be accelerated through cooperation with China in three main systems related to ecological transition: 1) cooperation between China and Brazil in ecological industrialization and investments;
2) political agreements and policies between China and Brazil; and 3) cooperation between China and Brazil in technological transformation. The study provides a deep understanding of the complex context of China's investments and cooperation in ecological industrialization and technologies through a comprehensive analysis of legal provisions, government policies, and international agreements.
